Today…Weird Al’s new album “Mandatory Fun”…and on the way to work this morning, already listened to “Word Crimes” & “Tacky”…so good. Such good stuff. AWESOME stuff.
We Weird Al fans are a fun, strange bunch. We feel that there are way more Weird Al fans out there…but they don’t make themselves known. Last year, I got to meet a fellow Weird Al fan, and have become great friends with him…Mr. Branden Oliver. You’ve heard his parodies and songs on the show…the dude is a musical genius. (we hear he’s working on another State Fair Classic as we speak).
Branden is huge Weird Al fan…maybe even bigger than me (we’ll have to have a Weird Al-off one day). Out of respect for his musical know-how…I had him submit his Top 12 Weird Al songs.

How much does Branden love “Hardware Store”? So much so that he even made a parody of it…which was incredible…and Weird Al even told Branden backstage that he had seen it and enjoyed it.
We Weird Al fans are definitely dorks…and we’re totally fine with that. We know that when people ask us to name of our favorite bands/artists, and we include Weird Al…we will get weird looks…but again, we’re fine with that.
Meeting & interviewing Weird Al was one of my favorite celebrity moments ever. (It’s tough to beat Carrie Underwood, but that’s understandable).
Since I was 7 years old, I’ve been an AL-coholic. What else hasn’t changed since I was 7? Pretty much that…and my love for the Cubs.
