Kurt’s Blog: The Pros & Cons of Chris Being the Bachelor

Chris Soules of Arlington, Iowa.

Just saying the name drives Bachelorette fans wild….Andi should have chosen him to at least get to the Final 2…and if she was making the best decision, it would be Chris who would get the Final Rose.

Andi, if you pick Nick (that’s who my wife thinks she’ll pick), have fun shopping for that family of 40 (or possibly 41 if the rumors of Andi being pregnant are true) during the holidays. Good luck with all of that.

I’m a fan of Chris’ as well…not to the point where my wife had a dream about him….but I’m a fan. (the dream entailed my wife dating him….she wasn’t sure where I was).

On the plus side of not going to the Final 2…Chris can save the awful embarrassment of proposing…and being turned down…on national TV. I still cringe thinking of Ben doing that with what’s her name. She has a name…who was that? Was that Emily? No…Ashley. Right? Ashley. That’s right. (maybe spelled Ashleigh? I can’t remember).

The rumors are continuing to swirl that Chris is slated to be the next Bachelor. The chosen Bachelor is much like Spiderman….”With great power comes great responsibility”. (the other rumor is that it’s Arie…and if that happens, well…well, at least my Monday nights would free up starting in January).

I’m sure we’ll find out Monday night during the “After the Final Rose” show.

I have taken it upon myself to make Chris a list of “Pros & Cons” on becoming the next Bachelor.

PROs:

You should never turn down an opportunity to be pursued by 25 attractive women.

As viewers, we will all enjoy the 7-8 women that will attempt to incorporate corn into their outfit or introduction as they step out of the limo on the first night.

Chris is totally likeable…my wife hearts him. We’ll be rooting for him…and he’s easy to root for.

He doesn’t say “It’s Okay”. Juan Pablo…still terrible.

The rumors are that it’s between Chris or that Arie guy. For the love of everything, Chris…please be the Bachelor…we’re all tired of Arie. “Hi, I’m Arie, this is my Adam’s Apple…nice to meet you”.

Chris hasn’t dated Courtney Roberson…so we can like him.

I will enjoy these East Coast girls trying to figure out “What a typical Iowa” girl is. Whatever they think is…they won’t get it.

He doesn’t seem to be a tearful, blubbery mess. I’m tired of all the crying…I much preferred the way Chris handled not getting a rose from Andi.

Oh,and to find love. Nearly forgot that one.

Cons:

We all love Chris…but every Bachelor from a previous season always comes off bad. Look at Juan Pablo…women loved him…and he turned out to be scum. We all loved Ben…felt sorry for Ben….and then he fell for the evil Courtney, and we questioned everything we ever knew of Ben. Chris runs that risk of falling out of favor with all of us…I hope that I won’t happen, but the pattern is in effect.

During sit-downs with Chris Harrison…Chris Harrison will feel compelled every time to say it’s the “Chris & Chris” show.

The 1000+ times a girl will say “I can handle Iowa”.

Chris’ personal life is going to fall apart…we follow him on Twitter…and he re-tweets and responds to so many of his fans’ tweets about him. It’s an incredibly nice gesture…but once you become the Bachelor, he’ll have so many more Tweets, and he’ll spend every waking moment tweeting back & re-tweeting.

The pros win out…hopefully the Bachelor selection committee will see this as well. Adios Arie…here’s to Chris being our next Bachelor.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
