So about a week ago…some website came out with the list of the “Favorite Halloween Candy for Each State”.
In Iowa….we apparently love Twix. What? Did a bunch of people with no taste buds take this survey? Twix is a lazy candy…it should be good…chocolate, caramel, cookie crunch…it should a be a trio of perfection, but no. When you eat a Twix, do you really like it…or do you just want to do what I do…just using your front fangs to scrape the caramel & chocolate off that stale cookie stick. Exactly.
Of course, this bothered me…so I have my list of Top 10 Halloween candies that I want.

OBSERVATIONS
Now that you’ve seen my list…you might think “Wow, Almond Joys at #4? That’s ridiculous”…and yes, I would concur. In fact…I don’t even like coconut…or almonds…and 11 months out of the year, get that coconutty mess out of my face…but come October…boom, this is a delicious little treat.
Sam goes with Butterfingers….I would never consider purchasing a Butterfinger from a vending machine, but come Halloween-time, this is what I’ll go snooping through my kids’ bags for.
The king of them all is the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup…they might just be one of the most delicious things of all time. The Halloweens of 2012/2013 were fantastic…both kids didn’t enjoy the peanut butter/chocolate mix…last year though, their taste buds apparently became more sophisticated and they horded these delicious cups of greatness.
We’re a family that buys Halloween candy early…well, I buy Halloween candy early, my wife would prefer I wouldn’t…just so I have snacks at a moment’s notice. Any variety bag I buy must contain a Peanut Butter Cups.
