Kurt’s Blog: WHERE…. IS … ALL … ..THE … GIRLS’ … SHARK STUFF??!!?!?!

Ahem…I’m about to step onto my soapbox.

This is my daughter, Priscilla…she’s 7…

She enjoys soccer, cooking, Oreos, being tall enough to ride the bumper cars at Adventureland finally….and SHARKS.

SHE HEARTS SHARKS!!

Her favorite movie? The Meg.

Has she watched Jaws? Yes…all four movies…and loved them.

Does she want to study sharks? You betcha.

Does she think she saw a Megaladon off the coast of California while we were on vacation? Yep (and don’t tell her otherwise).

If it has a shark on it…she wants it…

…so, it’s very disappointing that when it comes to finding shark stuff/clothing for a girl, there’s…

NOTHING.

This is a quick look at the boys swim trunks aisle at any given time.

It truly is a Shark-a-palooza.

What she wouldn’t do for a swimsuit like this…something like this.

We did find her one…but only one swimsuit with sharks on it…but it’s just outlines of sharks. She likes it…but deep down, I know she likes it only because it’s the only option for her.

I did an unscientific study…but found that the ratio of mermaid-related stuff to shark stuff for girls is 1000:0. Math isn’t my strong suit, but that’s not good.

To the clothing companies…it’s okay, girls like sharks too…anyone can like sharks. Let’s make some shark stuff for girls too!!!!!!!!!!

If you see shark stuff for girls…please let me know…leave a comment. Thanks.

Everyone loves sharks. SHARK EQUALITY FOR ALL!

I step down from my soapbox now…and twisted an ankle.

‘Scary Movie’ tops box office, slaying ‘Masters of the Universe’ and adding to low-budget streak

The summer box office is booming — but not because of the usual suspects. After three weeks of indie horror dominance at the box office, the slasher spoof "Scary Movie" topped ticket sales with $55 million over the weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, easily besting the far-from-mighty "Masters of the Universe."

Carolina trails Vegas in the Stanley Cup Final and has a big decision to make for Game 4

A sequence of events in a Stanley Cup Final that has gotten crazier by the minute has put the Carolina Hurricanes at a crossroads. They blew a two-goal lead and lost Game 1, erased a two-goal deficit and won Game 2, and rallied from down four goals in Game 3, only to lose in double overtime on a fluky bounce.
