Kurt’s Blog: Why I Would Be a Terrible Navy Seal

Lone Survivor

Holy cow…”Lone Survivor” is a definite must-see movie. It is non-stop action…and you run through the entire gamut of emotions. How they filmed some of those scenes still blows my mind…like the mountain scenes? Crazy.

It’s definitive proof that I would have made the worst Navy SEAL ever. I doubt I even survive the helicopter ride. What? Is that gunfire? Forget that…I quit. What? I’m going to have to sleep outside? Screw that!

As the credits rolled…half of the theater started a slow clap…the other half just sat silently…just in awe of what they had seen.

Paul Molitor

Yesterday, as part of the Minnesota Twins Caravan that was making its way across Iowa, the Twins stopped by the station. Part of the Caravan included Hall of Famer Paul Molitor…#9 on baseball’s all-time hit leaders. It was crazy cool meeting him…

Fulfilling a New Years Resolution

So, in my list of resolutions, I mentioned that I want to find five bands that I’ll jump on the bandwagon of….and I think I found two….Bastille….and The Bad Suns. Oh, it feels good to accomplish things.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!

‘Scary Movie’ tops box office, slaying ‘Masters of the Universe’ and adding to low-budget streak

The summer box office is booming — but not because of the usual suspects. After three weeks of indie horror dominance at the box office, the slasher spoof "Scary Movie" topped ticket sales with $55 million over the weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, easily besting the far-from-mighty "Masters of the Universe."

Carolina trails Vegas in the Stanley Cup Final and has a big decision to make for Game 4

A sequence of events in a Stanley Cup Final that has gotten crazier by the minute has put the Carolina Hurricanes at a crossroads. They blew a two-goal lead and lost Game 1, erased a two-goal deficit and won Game 2, and rallied from down four goals in Game 3, only to lose in double overtime on a fluky bounce.
