Kurt’s Blog: You Make My Decision, You Solve My Dilemma

It’s like a very cheap “Choose Your Own Adventure”…

Okay…here’s the dilemma…

Softball is Thursday night…but also, my beloved Packers kick-off the NFL season vs. the Seahawks…can’t do both…which do I choose?

You decide.

I told 2 of my teammates that I wasn’t going to be at the softball game…in favor of watching the Packers game…and you would have thought I had just insulted their mom. They were not pleased to say the least.

Case for Watching Packers Game:

  • I don’t have to get off the couch.
  • I can eat wings while doing this.
  • It’s the Packers.
  • I heart football.
  • Carrie Underwood will be involved in the musical intro.
  • No risk of tearing a hamstring while watching football.
  • Don’t have to shower afterwards.
  • Carrie Underwood will be involved in the musical intro. (yep, twice).
  • I’m still wanting to avenge the travesty that happened the last time Green Bay played Seattle.
  • I have Jordy Nelson & Eddie Lacy on my fantasy football teams.
  • Oh, it’s going to be wicked hot tomorrow. I won’t sweat while on the couch.
  • My son and daughter can learn “new” words

Case for Playing Softball

  • It’s good to be out there being active.
  • Softball can burn 100-120 calories in an hour.
  • The team might fall apart without me.
  • Who else will pop out to the shortstop?
  • Being social is a good thing.
  • Umm…hmm….softball is fun?

You decide…do I pass on softball in favor of the football game?

Listen, it’ll be hard to sway me…so, far, all I see is that one choice involves Wings, Aaron Rodgers, and Carrie Underwood…and the other involves possibly injury & my hooligan idiot friends.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!

‘Scary Movie’ tops box office, slaying ‘Masters of the Universe’ and adding to low-budget streak

The summer box office is booming — but not because of the usual suspects. After three weeks of indie horror dominance at the box office, the slasher spoof "Scary Movie" topped ticket sales with $55 million over the weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, easily besting the far-from-mighty "Masters of the Universe."

Carolina trails Vegas in the Stanley Cup Final and has a big decision to make for Game 4

A sequence of events in a Stanley Cup Final that has gotten crazier by the minute has put the Carolina Hurricanes at a crossroads. They blew a two-goal lead and lost Game 1, erased a two-goal deficit and won Game 2, and rallied from down four goals in Game 3, only to lose in double overtime on a fluky bounce.
