Kurt’s Blog: Suffering From “Insanity”

Suffering from Insanity

My wife & I are going to do our first vacation since having kids later in March…and we’re heading down to Cozumel with some of our friends. In an effort to get beachbody ready, I fell victim to the constant commericals of “Insanity”. (By the way, you will never here me actually say the word insanity, you’ll only hear me growl the word (like some monster truck announncer…it just makes it sound that much better).

Last night….Day 1. Today….I quit. I’m just kidding, but seriously, wow, either I’m that out of shape, or the workout is just that intense.

My wife killed it…she did the workout, but she was able to move afterwards as well. Me? Not so much…she jumped up the stairs when we were done…I had to drag myself up.

Definitely liking it though…and we are committed to it (especilaly because I still have to easy monthly payments of $39.95 to go, ha ha).

Ryan Gosling

This is why I am doing Insanity…to look like Ryan Gosling. Done and done.

His new movie “Gangster Squad” came out this weekend, and with a new movie featuring a big-time actor, well…I couldn’t pass up a list, right?

Top 5 Ryan Gosling Movies

1. Blue Valentine (but one of the most depressing movies I have ever, ever seen, and it hurts my heart even thinking about this movie).

2. Crazy, Stupid, Love

3. Drive

4. Remember the Titans (he was one of the players apparently, thank you IMDB)

5. The Notebook

I know, I know, how could The Notebook be so low? It’s crazy, right? Ah yes, I’m a guy. The Notebook really has no effect on me.

Project X

I watched that party movie “Project X” over the weekend…and was really excited to see it…I love “found footage” movies (well, I think I do…lately, though, not so much)…and party movies? Definitely. Combine the two, and how could I not be excited about seeing this movie.

Then I saw it.

It sucked.

It’s terrible…nothing happens. There’s no villain, there’s no character development…there’s nothing really even shocking in it. A midget that punches people in the groin? Snore. Plus, it was just a lot of people dancing…it was a total snoozfest.

The New Justin Timberlake Song

It’s called “Suit & Tie”…featuring Jay-Z. I don’t know what to think of it yet. It’s just sort of different….and he sings really, really high throughout the whole thing. If I didn’t know it was Justin Timberlake before listening to it, I never would have guessed it was him.

Bad Week for Britney Spears

Seriously…first she gets fired from X-Factor…then it comes out that she and her boyfriend Justin/Jason (? I can’t remember) have called off their engagement…and then her dog apparently is in an out of the hospital with some sort of ailment. That’s a bad, bad week.

Bad Night for the Packers

Well, that was painful on Saturday night. I think Colin Kaepernick is still running. Wow, we (I know I’m not part of the team) had no answer for him. Simply ridiculous. On the other hand, it got so out of hand that with 5 minutes left to go in the game, I was able to start watching Back to the Future 2 (thank you HBO/Cinemax free weekend).

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
