To my dearest friend Colleen…
Friday morning is going to be hella weird when I look to my right like I have for the previous two decades…and realize, oh snap, you’re not there. Do I even take Mic 2? Or do I stay on my Mic 3? Decisions.
Colleen…you are truly one of a kind. There will be no one else like you.
I know when I started you were worried I was coming for your job, and the least favorite part of your morning was having to get up from your chair after the 5:45 Hollywood Trash, and go let me into the building (because they didn’t yet trust me with a key).
As you can see though, if I was after your job, I was playing a very long LONG game.
I will miss you so much…I will miss all the laughs and fun we’ve shared…and the amount of off-air stories that were shared that can never be repeated LOL.
I was honored to be the officiant in your wedding…and it truly was an honor to be seated on the same side of table since October of 2000.
You changed how I see the world…maybe in mostly good ways. I am now thoroughly confused on how many cliches are actually worded…and that’s alright by me.
My heart hurts that you’re leaving…but am so happy that you’re doing so on your own terms. You’ve earned that, you deserve that…and you deserve all the love that our listeners will rain down upon you (NOTE: LISTENERS THIS IS YOUR CUE TO SHOWER HER WITH LOVE).

I know we’ll text a ton…and we’ll get together for lunches…but it won’t be the same as getting to enjoy your presence for 5+ hours every morning.
So much good luck to you Colleen…enjoy so much fun with your family…and I will miss seeing you on Friday morning (although, during summer, let’s be honest, you take so many vacations, you’re rarely here on Fridays anyway).
Much love Colleen.
Sincerely,
Your friend, Kurt
PS. I’m sure Ken would echo all of this, but you know me, I’m incredibly territorial when it comes to my Blog.
